Downtown San Juan Capistrano, around the Mission, is about 15 minutes from our office outside rush hour. Every route uses the I-5, so the time of day matters more than the miles. Outside commute hours the drive is easy, and at rush hour it can take much longer.
How long is the drive?
- From the Mission and downtown, about 15 minutes via the I-5 to El Toro Road.
- From Marbella, about 16 minutes via Rancho Viejo Road and the I-5.
- From San Juan Hills and the La Pata side of town, about 21 minutes via Antonio Parkway, Crown Valley Parkway and the I-5.
Those times are outside rush hour. A mid-morning or early afternoon appointment keeps you off the busiest part of the I-5, and the week of the Swallows’ Day Parade in March is worth planning around downtown. Street parking is free and there are free spaces behind the building. The parking structure charges, so most people skip it. Suite 450 is reached by elevator.
Can you see grandparents and grandchildren on the same trip?
Yes. San Juan Capistrano is evenly balanced at both ends: about 21 percent of residents are under 18 and about 21 percent are 65 or over, according to Census figures for 2020 to 2024. We can book a grandparent and a grandchild back to back, so one person does the driving once.
What about the children and teenagers?
- Sealants and fluoride, which cost far less than the fillings they help prevent.
- Orthodontic assessment for teenagers, with treatment when the timing is right rather than as early as possible.
- Custom sports mouth guards for school and club teams.
- Wisdom teeth, assessed properly before anyone suggests removing them.
If a tooth is knocked out. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk and call us right away on (949) 830-0074. The first hour makes a real difference. See emergency dentistry.
And the grandparents?
About four in five homes in San Juan Capistrano are lived in by their owners (81 percent, Census figures), and people who stay put tend to have dental work that has been in place a long time. The work that matters at that stage:
- Dental implants, including All-on-4 and full arch treatment.
- Dentures and partials, repairs and relines, and implant-supported dentures.
- Periodontal maintenance, which is what decides whether teeth are kept into later life.
- Crowns and bridges placed years ago that are now failing at the edges.
Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist. Prosthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth.
We just moved to San Juan Capistrano. Where do we start?
Come in for a proper first visit rather than an emergency one. We take a full set of records, tell you plainly what needs attention now and what can wait, and you then have somewhere to call when something breaks on a Sunday night.
That applies whether you have landed in Los Rios, the streets around the Mission, Marbella or San Juan Hills or anywhere else in San Juan Capistrano.
For routine care, see dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and tooth extractions. If dental visits make you anxious, sedation dentistry is available, and same-day emergency appointments are held daily.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and other major PPO plans, and the Delta Dental, Guardian and MetLife HMO plans (full list).
Call with your carrier name, member ID and group number. We will check your coverage before your first visit rather than after it.
What will it cost?
For anything past an exam and cleaning you get a written estimate first, itemized. It shows what your plan is expected to pay and what it leaves you.
No dental insurance? The Pearl32 membership is $59 a month with a $119 activation fee. There is also third party financing through Cherry, CareCredit, Sunbit and Happen Bank. The practice is not the creditor.
One thing worth saying plainly. This is a general practice, not a specialty office. Some complex surgical cases belong with a specialist. When that is the right call we will tell you so rather than take the case.
We are in Laguna Hills, not San Juan Capistrano. There is a page for Laguna Hills with the neighborhoods, parking and the elevator to Suite 450.
Pearl32 Dentistry and Wellness also has pages for patients coming from Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods Village, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Irvine, Tustin, Dana Point, San Clemente, Newport Beach and South Orange County. The office is the same one, at 24022 Calle De La Plata, Suite 450, Laguna Hills.
