Getting here from the Village

The Village resident bus stops at our plaza on service days. Check the Village bus schedule for the days and times before you book, and tell us you are coming by bus so we can set the appointment time to match.

Suite 450 is reached by elevator. There are no stairs to climb. The office is wheelchair accessible.

Parking: street parking is free, and the spaces behind the building are free. The parking structure charges.

We book longer appointments when you need them, so you are not rushed and the visit fits around the bus.

Medicare Advantage, insurance and the membership plan

We accept Medicare Advantage dental plans. Benefits vary by plan, so call with the plan name and we check what it covers before you come in. The plans we are in network with, including the Medicare Advantage plans, are listed on the insurance page.

Original Medicare does not cover routine dental care. If Original Medicare is your only coverage, ask us about the membership plan below.

If you have no dental coverage, the practice offers a membership plan. It is a membership plan, not insurance. It covers preventive visits for a set annual fee. The membership page lists what is included.

Every treatment fee is quoted in writing, itemized, after an examination. You will not be asked to decide on the spot.

The treatments Village residents ask about most

• Dentures and partials: full dentures and partial dentures for missing teeth.
• Denture repair and relines: for a cracked denture, or one that has become loose over time.

Complex cases are seen in the same office by visiting specialists: a periodontist, an endodontist and an oral surgeon. Your dentist stays on the case.

Oral cancer screening is part of every exam.

Medications, dry mouth and your physician

Bring a list of your medications to every visit. Include blood thinners and anything else you take, prescribed or over the counter. A printed list from your pharmacy works.

Never stop a medication on your own before a dental visit. If your treatment plan raises a question about a medication, we coordinate with your physician, and the decision stays with your physician.

Dry mouth is a common side effect of medications. General advice: sip water through the day, use sugar-free gum or lozenges, and tell the dentist about the medications you take so it can be taken into account at your exam.

Comfort and pace

We book longer appointments when you need them. If you tire easily, need breaks, or want time to ask questions, say so when you call and we set the schedule accordingly.

Three sedation options are offered for anxious patients: nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation administered and monitored by a provider who holds the California permit for it. See sedation dentistry.

The same dentist follows your case from the first exam through the last visit. Three general dentists practice here, all with a DDS from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry: Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh, who also holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist; Dr. Masih Rezaei, Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry; and Dr. Maneli Ardeshirzadeh.

Family members are welcome at visits. A son, daughter or friend can sit in, take notes and ask questions.

The team speaks English, Spanish and Persian (Farsi).

What a first visit looks like

Call (949) 830-0074 to book. Booking is by phone. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Bring your medication list, your insurance or Medicare Advantage card, and your current denture or partial if you have one. A family member is welcome to come along.

The first visit includes an examination, digital x-rays as needed, an oral cancer screening, and a conversation about what is bothering you and what you want. The office has a 3D cone beam CT scanner, a digital intraoral scanner and digital x-rays. There are no putty impressions.

You leave with a written, itemized plan and the fee for each item. Nothing is scheduled until you have read it and asked your questions. Details for new patients are on the new patients page.

What we will not do

• We will not pressure you. You take the written plan home and decide in your own time.
• We will not start treatment without a written, itemized plan that you have seen.
• We will not promise results. Healing and fit vary from person to person, and we say so before you start.
• We will not tell you to stop a medication. That conversation is with your physician, and we coordinate with your physician.
• We will not quote a fee before an examination.
• We will not hand your case to a different dentist partway through. The same dentist follows it.

How long is a first visit for someone with a long medical history?

Plan on a longer appointment, and we book it that way when you tell us on the phone. The visit covers your medical history and medication list, an examination, digital x-rays as needed, an oral cancer screening, and a written, itemized plan. My lower denture will not stay put. What are the options?

Three options. A reline refits the denture to your gums, which change shape over time. A new denture is made when the old one is worn or the fit cannot be recovered. An implant supported denture anchors to dental implants instead of resting on the gum alone. The dentist examines your gums and bone and then lays out each option in a written, itemized plan.

Do you offer sedation for a nervous patient?
