Newport Coast and Fashion Island are about 20 minutes from our office outside rush hour. The quickest routes use the SR-73 toll road, and there are toll-free routes on the I-405 that take only a few minutes longer. Newport Beach has many dental offices of its own, so this page is for people who choose to come to Laguna Hills for a reason.
How long is the drive?
- From Newport Coast, about 19 minutes via Newport Coast Drive, the SR-73 toll road and El Toro Road.
- From Fashion Island, about 21 minutes either way: on the SR-73 toll road, or toll free via Jamboree Road, University Drive and the I-405.
- From Corona del Mar, about 23 minutes on the SR-73, or about 24 minutes toll free via MacArthur Boulevard, University Drive and the I-405.
- From the Balboa Peninsula, allow about 30 minutes.
Those times are outside rush hour. The SR-73 is a cashless toll road: you pay by FasTrak or online within five days of the trip. Street parking is free and there are free spaces behind the building. The parking structure charges, so most people skip it. Suite 450 is reached by elevator.
What can you help with?
About 24 percent of Newport Beach residents are 65 or over (Census figures for 2020 to 2024). Much of what matters at that stage is restorative work, planned with the long run in mind:
- Dental implants, including All-on-4 and full arch treatment.
- Full mouth reconstruction when many teeth need work at once.
- Crowns, inlays and onlays and bridges.
- Gum disease treatment and periodontal maintenance.
Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist. Prosthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth.
What about cosmetic dentistry?
We plan cosmetic work from photographs and a digital scan, and talk through the proposed change with you before anything is done to a tooth. Porcelain veneers, bonding, KöR whitening and a full smile makeover are all options.
If a smaller step would get you most of the way, such as whitening before deciding on veneers, we will say so.
Do you see children?
Yes. About one in six Newport Beach residents is under 18 (16.5 percent). Children are seen for checkups, sealants and fluoride, and teenagers for orthodontic assessment and custom mouth guards. With about 9,000 boats in Newport Harbor, children who grow up around decks and docks have plenty of hard edges to meet with a front tooth.
If a tooth is knocked out. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk and call us right away on (949) 830-0074. The first hour makes a real difference. See emergency dentistry.
We just moved to Newport Beach. Where do we start?
Come in for a proper first visit rather than an emergency one. We take a full set of records, tell you plainly what needs attention now and what can wait, and you then have somewhere to call when something breaks on a Sunday night.
That applies whether you have landed in Corona del Mar, Balboa Island, Lido Isle or Newport Coast or anywhere else in Newport Beach.
For routine care, see dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and tooth extractions. If dental visits make you anxious, sedation dentistry is available, and same-day emergency appointments are held daily.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and other major PPO plans, and the Delta Dental, Guardian and MetLife HMO plans (full list).
Call with your carrier name, member ID and group number. We will check your coverage before your first visit rather than after it.
What will it cost?
For anything past an exam and cleaning you get a written estimate first, itemized. It shows what your plan is expected to pay and what it leaves you.
No dental insurance? The Pearl32 membership is $59 a month with a $119 activation fee. There is also third party financing through Cherry, CareCredit, Sunbit and Happen Bank. The practice is not the creditor.
One thing worth saying plainly. This is a general practice, not a specialty office. Some complex surgical cases belong with a specialist. When that is the right call we will tell you so rather than take the case.
We are in Laguna Hills, not Newport Beach. There is a page for Laguna Hills with the neighborhoods, parking and the elevator to Suite 450.
Pearl32 Dentistry and Wellness also has pages for patients coming from Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods Village, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Tustin, Dana Point, San Clemente and South Orange County. The office is the same one, at 24022 Calle De La Plata, Suite 450, Laguna Hills.
