Dana Point Harbor is about 20 minutes from our office outside rush hour. Plenty of Dana Point residents have a dentist closer to home, so this page is about the reasons people choose to make the drive: implant and denture work, a second opinion, or a membership plan if you have no dental insurance.

How long is the drive?

  • From Monarch Beach, about 19 minutes on surface streets: Niguel Road, Alicia Parkway and Paseo de Valencia. No freeway, but plenty of traffic lights.
  • From Capistrano Beach, about 20 minutes via Pacific Coast Highway and the I-5.
  • From Dana Point Harbor and Lantern Village, about 21 minutes via Pacific Coast Highway and the I-5.

Those times are outside rush hour. The harbor and Capistrano Beach routes use a busy stretch of the I-5, so allow extra at commute times. Street parking is free and there are free spaces behind the building. The parking structure charges, so most people skip it. Suite 450 is reached by elevator.

What can you help with?

Just over one in five Dana Point residents is 65 or older (22.3 percent, Census figures for 2020 to 2024). Much of the work that matters at that stage is restorative:

Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist. Prosthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth.

Can I get a second opinion?

Yes, and it is a good reason to make a 20 minute drive. If you have been given a large treatment plan, bring it with you or ask for your X-rays to be sent over. We take our own X-rays and, where it helps, a 3D scan, then tell you what we would do, what we would not, and why. There is more on the second opinion page.

What if a visiting grandchild needs a dentist?

Only about one in six Dana Point residents is under 18 (16.5 percent), but summer at Doheny State Beach, the Festival of Whales every March and whale watching from the harbor bring visiting family to town. If a grandchild chips or loses a tooth while staying with you, call and we will try to see them the same day.

If a tooth is knocked out. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk and call us right away on (949) 830-0074. The first hour makes a real difference. See emergency dentistry.

We just moved to Dana Point. Where do we start?

Come in for a proper first visit rather than an emergency one. We take a full set of records, tell you plainly what needs attention now and what can wait, and you then have somewhere to call when something breaks on a Sunday night.

That applies whether you have landed in Capistrano Beach, Lantern Village, The Strands at Headlands or Monarch Beach or anywhere else in Dana Point.

For routine care, see dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and tooth extractions. If dental visits make you anxious, sedation dentistry is available, and same-day emergency appointments are held daily.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and other major PPO plans, and the Delta Dental, Guardian and MetLife HMO plans (full list).

Call with your carrier name, member ID and group number. We will check your coverage before your first visit rather than after it.

What will it cost?

For anything past an exam and cleaning you get a written estimate first, itemized. It shows what your plan is expected to pay and what it leaves you.

No dental insurance? The Pearl32 membership is $59 a month with a $119 activation fee. There is also third party financing through Cherry, CareCredit, Sunbit and Happen Bank. The practice is not the creditor.

One thing worth saying plainly. This is a general practice, not a specialty office. Some complex surgical cases belong with a specialist. When that is the right call we will tell you so rather than take the case.

We are in Laguna Hills, not Dana Point. There is a page for Laguna Hills with the neighborhoods, parking and the elevator to Suite 450.

Pearl32 Dentistry and Wellness also has pages for patients coming from Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods Village, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Tustin, San Clemente, Newport Beach and South Orange County. The office is the same one, at 24022 Calle De La Plata, Suite 450, Laguna Hills.
