Every part of Tustin is about 12 miles from our office, roughly 18 to 20 minutes on the I-5 outside rush hour. There are dentists closer to home, so here is why some Tustin families make the drive anyway: they work in Irvine or south Orange County, or they want a second opinion before major treatment.

How long is the drive?

  • From Old Town Tustin on Main Street, about 18 minutes via El Camino Real and the I-5.
  • From The District at Tustin Legacy, about 18 minutes via Jamboree Road and the I-5.
  • From Tustin Ranch, about 20 minutes via Tustin Ranch Road and the I-5.

Those times are outside rush hour. The whole trip runs on the I-5 through the El Toro Y, which slows down at commute times, so a mid-morning or early afternoon appointment is the easy choice. Street parking is free and there are free spaces behind the building. The parking structure charges, so most people skip it. Suite 450 is reached by elevator.

When does the drive make sense?

If you work in Irvine, Lake Forest or Laguna Hills, an appointment before or after work puts us a few minutes off your route rather than 20 minutes from home.

The other reason is a second look. If you have been told you need implants, a full arch or a lot of crown work, a second opinion is worth a 20 minute drive. We take our own digital X-rays and, where it helps, a 3D scan, and tell you what we would and would not do.

What about the children and teenagers?

About 22.5 percent of Tustin residents are under 18, and Tustin Unified School District serves the city. If you bring children in, tell us which school they go to and we will plan visits around the district calendar.

If a tooth is knocked out. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk and call us right away on (949) 830-0074. The first hour makes a real difference. See emergency dentistry.

And the adults?

Tustin is a mix of older streets around Old Town and newer homes at Tustin Legacy, a planned community on the former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin. Whatever the age of the house, the dental work adults ask us about is much the same:

Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist. Prosthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth.

We just moved to Tustin. Where do we start?

Come in for a proper first visit rather than an emergency one. We take a full set of records, tell you plainly what needs attention now and what can wait, and you then have somewhere to call when something breaks on a Sunday night.

That applies whether you have landed in Tustin Legacy, Tustin Ranch, Tustin Meadows or the streets around Old Town or anywhere else in Tustin.

For routine care, see dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and tooth extractions. If dental visits make you anxious, sedation dentistry is available, and same-day emergency appointments are held daily.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and other major PPO plans, and the Delta Dental, Guardian and MetLife HMO plans (full list).

Call with your carrier name, member ID and group number. We will check your coverage before your first visit rather than after it.

What will it cost?

For anything past an exam and cleaning you get a written estimate first, itemized. It shows what your plan is expected to pay and what it leaves you.

No dental insurance? The Pearl32 membership is $59 a month with a $119 activation fee. There is also third party financing through Cherry, CareCredit, Sunbit and Happen Bank. The practice is not the creditor.

One thing worth saying plainly. This is a general practice, not a specialty office. Some complex surgical cases belong with a specialist. When that is the right call we will tell you so rather than take the case.

We are in Laguna Hills, not Tustin. There is a page for Laguna Hills with the neighborhoods, parking and the elevator to Suite 450.

Pearl32 Dentistry and Wellness also has pages for patients coming from Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods Village, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente, Newport Beach and South Orange County. The office is the same one, at 24022 Calle De La Plata, Suite 450, Laguna Hills.
