Downtown Laguna Beach is about 15 minutes from our office through Laguna Canyon, outside rush hour. Laguna has dentists of its own, so this page is for people who are happy to make a short canyon drive for a practice that suits them.
How long is the drive?
- From Main Beach and the Village, about 15 minutes on Laguna Canyon Road (SR-133) and El Toro Road.
- From North Laguna, near Crescent Bay, about 18 minutes.
- From South Laguna, about 20 to 22 minutes, either back through town and the canyon or inland on Crown Valley Parkway and Alicia Parkway.
Those times are outside rush hour. Only three roads lead in and out of town, Coast Highway in each direction and Laguna Canyon Road, so summer weekends and festival season can be slower. In summer, a morning appointment is the easy choice. Street parking is free and there are free spaces behind the building. The parking structure charges, so most people skip it. Suite 450 is reached by elevator.
What do you help Laguna Beach residents with?
Close to a third of Laguna Beach residents are 65 or over (30.1 percent, Census figures for 2020 to 2024). Much of the work that matters at that stage is keeping teeth for the long run, or replacing them well:
- Dental implants, including All-on-4 and full arch treatment.
- Crowns, and inlays and onlays to replace large old fillings before the tooth cracks.
- Gum disease treatment and periodontal maintenance.
- Implant-supported dentures for people who are tired of a loose denture.
Dr. Nojan Jahedmanesh holds a certificate in prosthodontics from UCLA and practices as a general dentist. Prosthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth.
What about cosmetic work?
A town built around the Festival of Arts, the Sawdust Art Festival and the Pageant of the Masters tends to notice the details. If you are thinking about veneers, bonding or whitening, we start with photographs and a conversation about what you would like changed.
We will also tell you when a smaller step would do the job. Whitening or a little bonding is sometimes all a smile needs, and there is a page on veneers versus bonding if you are weighing the two.
Do you see children and teenagers?
Yes. About 15 percent of Laguna Beach residents are under 18, and the public schools in town are all part of Laguna Beach Unified, so there is one calendar to plan around.
- Sealants and fluoride, which cost far less than the fillings they help prevent.
- Custom mouth guards for school sports.
- Chipped front teeth repaired with bonding. Skimboarding at Aliso Beach and surfing the reefs downtown are hard on front teeth.
If a tooth is knocked out. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk and call us right away on (949) 830-0074. The first hour makes a real difference. See emergency dentistry.
We just moved to Laguna Beach. Where do we start?
Come in for a proper first visit rather than an emergency one. We take a full set of records, tell you plainly what needs attention now and what can wait, and you then have somewhere to call when something breaks on a Sunday night.
That applies whether you have landed in Top of the World, Bluebird Canyon, Arch Beach Heights or Three Arch Bay or anywhere else in Laguna Beach.
For routine care, see dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and tooth extractions. If dental visits make you anxious, sedation dentistry is available, and same-day emergency appointments are held daily.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and other major PPO plans, and the Delta Dental, Guardian and MetLife HMO plans (full list).
Call with your carrier name, member ID and group number. We will check your coverage before your first visit rather than after it.
What will it cost?
For anything past an exam and cleaning you get a written estimate first, itemized. It shows what your plan is expected to pay and what it leaves you.
No dental insurance? The Pearl32 membership is $59 a month with a $119 activation fee. There is also third party financing through Cherry, CareCredit, Sunbit and Happen Bank. The practice is not the creditor.
One thing worth saying plainly. This is a general practice, not a specialty office. Some complex surgical cases belong with a specialist. When that is the right call we will tell you so rather than take the case.
We are in Laguna Hills, not Laguna Beach. There is a page for Laguna Hills with the neighborhoods, parking and the elevator to Suite 450.
Pearl32 Dentistry and Wellness also has pages for patients coming from Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods Village, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Tustin, Dana Point, San Clemente, Newport Beach and South Orange County. The office is the same one, at 24022 Calle De La Plata, Suite 450, Laguna Hills.
